How it works

Not sure which one to buy? We'll guide you.

Each guide picks three products. One is our favorite for most pets, and the other two suit pets with special needs, like a growing puppy.

The best harnesses for small dogs

With a small dog, putting on a harness can turn into a chase down the hallway, with you on your knees and them just out of reach. Even once you've caught them, a lot of harnesses are cut for bigger dogs, so the straps slide off a shoulder or sag under the chest. All you were asking for in the first place was a harness that hugs a little frame without slipping.

The Fit Finder

Measure once, and we find the size in every brand.

Brands don't agree on sizes. The same dog can be a Medium in one harness, a Large in the next, and too big for a third.

Tell us your pet's measurements once. Every buying guide then shows the right size on each pick.
